Well the car is running now I took it to my buddies shop and he hooked it up to the computer. Multiple misfires error as well as misfires in cylinders 2, 3 and 4. It feels like crap driving it. I am picking up oem irdium plugs tomarrow and replacing all of them. The bosch on it now are all shot to hell. I'm so bummed I am never using Seafoam again. If the plugs don't fix it its off to the dealer I guess.

I don't know if this is related to seafoam, but the last time I did seafoam, my injector died. I don't know if the seafoam did any damage, but after a few days of the treatment, my check engine light came on. I had it scanned, and it showed up that one of my cylinders were misfiring.

At the time I was doubtful that it was the injector, so I ordered new spark plugs and wires from the dealer and replaced them. The car was still misfiring. So all-n-all I had to replace one of my injectors.

So...I'm not sure if the seafoam actually did the damage, but Im probably going to avoid seafoam from now on.

Common occurance to foul plugs when doing a Seafoam treatment. I'll bet hard cash that is the problem. Remember, the Seafoam is going to loosen all that crud in the intake and blow it into the combustion chamber. Hence, fouled plugs. No biggie & no need to freak out.

you gotta pour it in slowly. Pour the seafoam into a small cup and let the brake booster hose "sip" the cup. Most likely its probably your spark plugs. Some people do recommend changing spark plugs after seafoaming, but I've had no issues with that on my car (gs400)

I just changed the Fuel Filter and my plugs to oem Denso Iridiums and the car runs a lot better but still misfires. After I start it in the morning it takes a few minutes to warm up and then it misfires 3 times in a row, RPM's drop and then come up again and then a misfire and then another, idles for a few seconds and then misfire 3 times in a row and repeat. Mabey injector, mabey coil pack? Why would it only do it once running for a while? Not warmed up have you but not for the first to minutes? Thanks for all the help guys!

OceanView read this it will tell you a little more about seafoam http://sr1.clublexus.com/forums/show...hlight=seafoam other than that i will have to agree with vin 78 you may need to replace your injector rail it was probably clogged up after the carbonation from your engine was cleaned by the seafoam. If you want to find i used one check out car-part.com forone other than that call your toyota dealer it should be the same as the camry part. But i still do agree that seafoam is a good thing i have used it myself with wonderful results in performance and gas mileage.

I still can't make the connection between seafoam causing a plug coil to break?

Its great that you got your car fixed. You'd never thought that a $5 can of seafoam would lead to a $450 fix...ergg....I'd feel crappy too!

I've used seafoam in the past on my sueprcharged 96 avalon and there was no problems....though I was hoping to see ALOT of white smoke, though that would be a sign of a dirty car ( it was more like a white fart puff).

I've also used it on my f150 and ES300. No problems. Like someone else said, its just coincidence. So for the rest of the people who are still cautious about seafoam, try it...well at least on your friends car.

A way cheaper alternative method is using water. No joke. It gets rid of all the carbon build up on pistons tops and valves.
