a lil help(yes i searched already)
i need a tip from someone who know the way the rear of the car is lighted and sensored
i have the gs300 led 3rd brake light and love it....but it causes an issue with the tail light sensor...shows that i have one that is out....because the led taillight is drawing less than a standard bulb....any tips on where to put a resistor or even what size....if not how is the rear light sensor wired? and can it be disabled?
thanks for the help.

im no electrical engineer or anything, but i would say just pull the bulb out of the instrument cluster. or you could probably be able to tap the 3rd brake light into your rear brake lights, then your 3rd brake light off your rears as well. this way nothing should be thrown off.
but i dunno, im just going off basic knowledge.
anyone else care to chime in?

Find out the type of bulb that the normal 3rd. light uses, and measure this bulbs resistance with an ohmmeter.
Go to an electronic store like Radio Shack and buy a resistor with the approximate ohm rating that you measured, with at least a 2 watt rating.
Cut one of the wires going to your LED brake light and put in this resistor.
The system should now be in balance, so it won't trigger the dashlight sensor to indicate a burned out bulb.

well i just got the car back from the body shop. $6000 later. its purty.
but the light i never did fix that. its on my list of things to correct. soon.
and no..i wouldnt say its an easy sway. there is some cutting of the rear deck sheet metal needed and take your time. also i still have to take the interior rear deck/speaker area to an interior shop to be recovered. there is a gap because the stock es300 light is deeper than the replacement.
i love the look of it though. definately a nice light.
