i searched the forums and i'm lost. the remote works and the key is fine but the plastic molding around it is trashed. I got the key with a crack in it and it has gotten worse, so bad that JB weld couldn't save the day.

other then making my own case for the remote and key can i buy just a cover? I called the dealer they said come in for a replacment key for $190

 

go to ebay, this is a common problem with that style key

 

was hoping i didn't have to get it cut. it is $80 at the dealer and $50 at my local locksmith. looks like i will be ebaying. thanks

 

you can get shells on ebay for around 10 bucks shipped. not sure if they are OEM Denso ones though.

Lexus Keys 02+ are badly designed They broke after one year of using them
On the other hand..My 95' keys are still in one piece

 

I'm having no problems with any of mine... Maybe some just have bad luck.
