I own a 2002 ES300 and i have the computer telling me how many KMS i can drive with the gas i have left. When i purchased the car last year, with a full-tank it said i could drive 420kms till it would go empty. How for some reason it shows that i can only drive 380kms with a full-tank.

Any ideas why this might be?... I dont abuse the car, and i dont find myself to be much of an aggressive driver...

Cool

Ugh suckage, most of us can get 400 MILES out of a tank on the much older ES 300's.

Check / replace your o2 sensors. Check your injectors operate correctly.

You see, I always seem to net higher Gas mileage than most other folks (call me Grandma...). My commute and drives are usually longer, not many street lights and stop & go traffic, and I tend to stay near 65mph on the highway instead of 75+. Gas mileage is something I can't tell on a "test drive" for my next car. I'd need to borrow it for a week or two...lol. So this is why I ask....
Whoa in CA that would be considered slow lane traffic lol
I usually go 75-80 mph(and I'm in the middle lanes going WITH the flow of traffic)
I get about 18 city and 26 highway.
Its just sad that the ls460 gets about the same hp as our cars, yet it has more than twice the horsepower and is a V8
For every 3 bucks i put into the car..what do i get out of it??

On a recent highway trip from DC to Durham, NC we averaged over 28mpg (did the math) with the AC on. And I'm no slouch when it comes to straight two-lane interstates; I often set cruise at 85mph and just let it roll along........

how can i, or what can i do to improve my gas mileage, i have done all scheduled maintenance... the next one coming up is the 90k; which i dunno what is going to be replaced other than timing belt/water pump?

just go easy on the gas and check all your fluids...my 2000 is at 144k and I'm getting about 25-26 all highway. I rarely ever take it over 3000rpm and try not to go faster than 75 on the highway. I get about 330ish with 1/4 tank left.

all my fluids are fine, new tires w/ good presure, i go an average of 78 on the highway (which is under 3k rpm), and i never take mine over 2500 rpm while driving!!!

No but performing your scheduled maintaince will give as good mpg as youre gonna get. Intakes do nothing, and k&n filters will wreak havoc with your MAF sensor. Use a OEM filter. And make sure your O2's are happy!

Seriously,I thought I was getting excellent gas mileage for a 92 around 300-320 a tank but that is only 20 m.p.g what is wrong with my car? I recently had my o2 sensors replaced 2 mths ago, and most of my miles are from the highway, between 85-95 at night, maybe thats the prob.

Cool

(replaced one, or both main o2 sensors?) Reset the ecu, pop the afm cog 5-10 clicks leaner.

You're alittle under, but not too bad. Leave early all one week & try 70-75. Remember not only do aerodynamic + frictional losses increase beyond a linear rate as you speed up, but if your gas pedal is more than 75-80% down it goes into open loop. Which dumps fuel in.

Oh... Check/adjust your tps sensor too. Sometimes the old style Toyota ones go out of adjustment over the years & they trigger open-loop alittle sooner than they should. That's pretty common, but not talked about too much.

Seems like my ES gets horrible gas mileage!! My Infiniti G35 coupe seems to get better mileage than me Lexus!! It should be the other way around. I never ever floor it or gas it in my ES. I just don't understand.
