Everyone wants to unleash alittle more Hp in their ride, Pheonix been blessing us some some very good info as always Thanks again Man..
I plan on cleaning the Upper intake Manifold, but can you explain alittle about the 5w-20 and EGR on how it helps? Lastly is switching to iridium really just a waste?

Cool

5w-20 is thinner & will take less power to pump/less friction.
EGR makes the mixture efefctively richer so they can get buy with alittle less fuel useage & improve emissions.
The downside is that carbon in the exhaust cakes all over everything.

Some people swear by iridium. I do not. Iridium lasts a very long time, it's also very expencive. To the point where I can buy 6 copper NGK plugs to the cost of 1 iridium NGK plug. Personally. I'd rather just change my plugs 6 times for the same cost LoL! (In reality, you'd need 2-3 plug changes to equal them.)

I suggest get like 100 or so CL stickers (when or if they come out again) , and stick them all over your ES (especially the doors!!!) and then just use your will / mind power, and everything put together will make your car go A LOT faster! Trust me, ive seen people with civics do it!

An ES, in my honest opinion is the worst car if your expecting some sort of performance from it... An ES it far too heavy, its more of a comfy cruiser lol.
Just chillout, and enjoy the ride. Doesn't matter how fast you get there.

At my 1/4 mile track down here, I hear some comments in the stands sometime that the more stickers, the faster the vehicle is (since stickers mean modifications), when in fact I have found out that the fastest vehicles are actually the ones that appear like ordinary vehicles (no exterior modifications).

Sorry but the ES is the ONLY front wheel drive Lexus... and dont get me wrong FWD vehicles can be quick (civics and so-on) but that's because they weight almost nothing and have many performance parts offered for them... But you show me a 3000lb. FWD race car.

Im def. not making fun of ES's because i do like them and even own one. But i strongly believe that they are not suitable for performance. The reason why you dont see too many ES's with engine modifications making records on the 1/4 mile.

Im not here to argue or anything, im just giving my 2 cents.

Well over $2000 USD including labor. Still more to come.

I couldn't of done some things without the great advice and inspiration from Pheonix. A pure wizard on our engines.

If I don't count labor, you are probably right.

this is prob a dumb question to all lex or pheonix but I was driving in my car today my es300 1995 and for some reason i realized I had a drive 1 and a drive 2 in my car. I never drove on them before but i was wondering what the f U CCC K are they for? I kinda have an idea that they are at diff rmps and they have different torques but how the hell r u supposed to tow anything on the es300? can anyone please explain to me when and why i should be using those different gears?

With my RX300, I have had a lot of joy and fun in modifying it. Regardless of it not being on paper a fast vehicle, that is part of the challenge, especially when you can take it to the track and beat stuff you aren't supposed to beat...X5 3.0, MDX, Cayenne V6 (that all should be able to beat me).

I think an ES is no different in that respect and can be a lot of fun.
