Rattling Noise
I have a 1998 ES300 and it makes a rattling noise by the front wheels everytime I go over a rough surface. Had the front struts changed. My mechanic thinks it's the splash guard making noise, but I'm not sure. Could it be the tires? Also, my check engine light is on, which when checked, indicated that something was going on with the EGR Valve. Has anyone else had them cleaned or replaced?

I have the same problem. I had a mechanic looked at it and found nothing wrong . he said it could be from shocks. I took a lookmat it today and found that trasmission mount is worn out and when I go over a wrogh surface a bolt that os in the middle of the mount create the noise. I will be look for a trans mount. Check yours. Turn you wheele all the way to driver's side and look behind it right over the chasses you see a mount that is bolted to the chasses and transmission above it. Hope this helps.
