Well it all depends on what "image" you're going for... If it happens to be a more hip-hop theme to your car then from the choices you have the Zinik Z18's are fairly nice. But if you're going for the Jap. look then i'd probably go with the Volk Racing RE30's...

Regardless, I don't find that Tirerack has that good of a selection for wheels for any vehicle, the only advantage it has is that you can see the wheels they offer, on your car. My opinion look around various other aftermarket wheel sites, there are much better looking wheels avaliable out there.

Another suggestion is to check out the sticky threat posted at the top of this forum displaying a gallery of ES's... checking it out might benefit you by giving you better ideas on what you might be looking for....

Let us know what wheels you choose, and post some pics... Good Luck!

The all chrome Zinik Z18 Minardi doesnt look bad. I dunno, but the black one doesn't seem appealing to me on that ES. Bronze has always been something different, but again, I don't think an ES of that color can pull it off.

i have the same color es myself... but i rather prefer to get fatter spokes than thin. the Zinik does look good, but i still think you should go with fewer spokes.

I prefer the Volks in those pictures.

In any of those choices, you will find it a benefit to the appearence if you paint your hubs and calipers. Toyo/Lex hubs and calipers are prone to rust and discoloration. The rust will really take away from you new wheels appearence. Don't worry, it is an easy task to perform.

From the above choices, I would choose the Volk Racing RE30.

But I would rather get some "VIP" looking rims...some photos i found:

VIP would be prefered on a lexus, not some cheap rims from tire rack...

Careful there. You might be stepping on the toes (tires?) of a lot of your more prudent-budgeted CL bros. The budget is not an issue in this case but some folks are out there doing the best with what they can get.

Two problems with using VIP-style as the prime determinant for wheel selection:
1)Who's to say that VIP isn't the trend of the quarter that'll be passe' this time next year? One thing you can count on with trends...they're temporary no matter how awesome they are.
2) Besides according to Takahiro Taketomi, one of the self-proclaimed founders of VIP style, "true VIP style tuning is limited to only 10 Nissan and Toyota models: Nissan President, Cima, Gloria, Cedric and Fuga; Toyota Celsior, Century, Aristo, Crown and Majesta. That’s it." (AutoWeek 05/08/06)

I'm looking for something not quite so flashy or attention-getting, as car-jacking is even more unpleasant when you have little ones in the back seat strapped in.

This turned out to be a brilliant suggestion. I'd been through that thread before and I wasn't sure I'd liked anything I saw. It turns out there were some looks I REALLY like in there. Now I need to choose between them (if I can even find out what and where they are). In order of favorites, I think, from #4 to #1:

I think I prefer all 4 of these to any of the cheapies and more expensive wheels I found on TireRack. Could I get some help from you brainiacs, who can identify and know your wheels so well, determining the brand/model of these pictured?

Looks like the rims in the first picture is ASA ST4.
the third one looks like HP's Evo (?) but not sure if it is. I'd definately go with the rims in the third pic...can't go wrong with mesh

The Volk Racing RE30 - 18x8 looks alright, but I suggest Euroline DH's for VIP if you got the $$.

Cool

Don't like any of them overly, but I would take the Volk Racing RE30's out of the wheels posted thus far.

I love these wheels tho:

hot stuff

Yup. These are pretty much the ones I'm picking unless they're the price of a starter house.

That is - if someone can help me determine what they are so I can shop for them.
