Default Important KYB GR-2 information.....

I sent a question to KYB directly asking them if there is a difference between the 92-94 KYB GR-2's and the 95-96 GR-2's and this is the reply that I got back from them directly....

"The extended lengths are different between the two, the 1992-94 struts
are longer but the main difference is the spring seat design. The
1992-94 ES300's have a removable lower spring seat and the bearing is
under that seat where as the 1995-96 has a stationary seat. You would
not be able to interchange these two struts."

This is directly from KYB America....May want to make this a sticky fellas. I appreciate everyones input, I am going to stick with the 92-94 KYB GR-2 part numbers for my 94.

Great information! I'll copy their response into the first post on this sticky in the KYB section. Thanks for passing it on!

The H&R springs I ordered (and possibly some other valuable information) are in this post in the middle of my suspension work log thread.

Can't wait to see pics of your install and/or post-install pics.

On top of the Whiteline RSB, the TRD RSB for the 97-01 Camry/99-03 Solara will work on the 92-96 Camry/ES300. Only additional part you need is the bushing brackets from the 97-01, as the bushings are different. Then it's a bolt on.

I found a good article on the trinity of alignment (caster, toe, camber) and the use of camber kits.

If it fits the 92-96 Camry it will fit the 92-96 ES300. I want to type "with rare exception" after that first sentence, but I don't know of ANY exceptions. They're the same VCV10 chassis.

Question

I'll post here and see if I get any replies; if not, I'll start a thread and copy the data here.

Those of you who WORK ON or OWN 2nd Gen ESs ('92-'96) -

With what brand/model/part # springs are you replacing STOCK SPRINGS when the desired result is the preservation of the stock ride without lowering?

Good article I came across that describes the function of shocks and springs and how to tell when they're worn.

Great info, Sloooooow! I guess all that noise I hear under my car all the time are my springs and struts talking to each other:

"Hey, here comes another speed bump and a couple of potholes! Get ready to start bouncing, guys!"

Ba-Bump-Ba-Bump!! Ba-Bump-Ba-Bump!!

"Holy Jeebus, springs! This ain't a flippin' rodeo ya know! Settle down already!"

"Mind yer own business, ya wimpy *** struts! Yeeehaw! Ride 'em cowboy!"

Good Afternoon,

After having driven and tested your coilovers on cars in my local Lexus Club (North Texas Lexus) - an SC300 and an IS300 - I'd LOVE to get some GR+Plus coilovers available for the 92-96 Lexus ES300 (same/shares the Toyota Camry chassis for the same years).

There's a serious paucity of coilovers for ES300s and Camrys for those years, and the market is BEGGING for them. Feel free to see for yourself at the ES forum on ClubLexus.com (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es3.../?daysprune=-1) and the 3rd/4th generation Toyota Camry forum on ToyotaNation.com (http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/f103). Please let me know when we can expect these to be available.
