Exclamation 95 ES300 Squeaky Belt!?!?

How would i go about fixing a squeaky belt? It was replaced about a month or 2 ago so its almost brand new probally few hundred miles on it. When i turn it on in the mornings its a loud obnoxious squeak and it keeps this up until about 20-30 minutes after i have the car running or while im even driving. Its like one of those annoying old cars you hear squeaking by you when your driving down the road. I HATE IT!! HELP!?!

Do you know which belt is making the noise??

It might be loose. Or, if the belt seems tight and is not badly worn or cracked, then the belt may be too tight.

i honestly cant tell, is there anyway to check to be sure? the belt that was replaced is the one connected to the alternator. People are saying its because its new.. but i dont understand why it would start squeaking like 2 months after it was replaced....

New belts stretch and are supposed to be retensioned. All you have to do is retighten it. This takes all of 1 minute to accomplish.

Hey E-Z I had the same problem about a week ago! I thought it was the belt so I had it replaced. It only lasted for about a half an hour or so until the car was warmed up and it stopped. But what I found out it was was I did not have ANY fluid in my power stering pump/container! When I would start it and let it run it would be noiusy so I checked the fluids and that was it! CHECK YOUR POWER STEERING CONTAINER!

I'll cheack my power steering fluid but the squeak it makes does NOT sound like any type of power steering problem, i've heard the squeak of power steering fluid being low this just stands out as being a squeaky belt...

How would i go about retightening it? Is it simple enough to do myself? I have not really been under this car yet. I've been under few other cars and im guessing all i have to do is loosen the bolt to the tensioner readjust it to a tighter limit and tighten it back up. Does that sounds right or am i missing something?

If you feel uncomfortable doing it, I would suggest taking it back to the shop that replaced them the first time. Tell them you think it's loose, and they should tighten it for free.

If they want to charge, then you can do it yourself. Not that hard to do IMHO.
