Default fudgy gas pedal

was on vacation this past week in SC and began noticing that my gas pdeal was sticking. it appears to be getting worse. at a dead stop, pressing the gas peal, i must apply greater than usual pressure to get the car moving, then of course, the car jumps forward reacting to the higher rpms ( like im trying to stomp it) this really wasnt a bother until i pulled out into oncoming traffic and pressed my gas to cross the lanes, and nearly freaked as it wouldnt press. so now im quite concerned as to what this problem might be. anyone know the quick fix here, or have had the same issues? recently changed oil and filter, tranny drain and filter, rplcd rt axle shaft and seafoamed last oil change. engine has no stall or hesitation, just the gas pdeal is VERY sticky from a stop and sometimes from a slow roll when the pedal has been allowed to return to original position.

Cino,

This likely isn't the issue but I always start with the simplest possible answer...
make sure the floor mat isn't impeding the pedal travel at all

Cool

Your gas pedal is sticking because your throttle body is very dirty, and the throttle plate binds up and dosent unseat itself smootly anymore. This causes the added pressure needed to be applied to the gas pedal, then when it does "pop" open you get the "jerk" of acceleration. Clean your throttle body and you should be all set

was thinking the exact same thing, but wasnt sure and didnt want to dismantle the TB for no good reason. im not the most handy person in the world when it comes to putting things back together. but i did this operation this past weekend, didnt use TB cleaner, just a clean, dry rag. and put back together no probs. as to date, ive only noticed a slight stick, nothing as bad as previosly stated. will purchase some TB cleaner today and try again tonight. thanks for the reply. i will post up results to come.
