I have a popping sound coming from somewhere above my head when going over bumps in my 06 330. Does anyone know what this might be? I checked the moon roof and seems to be secure. It sometimes sounds like its the top of the windshield as i hear the same popping sound from the top of the passenger side too. Any help would be great. I tried the search but no luck. Thanks

My parents' 03 es300 has the same 'popping' or 'cracking' noise from the same area..also from the plastic trim in the center console...
Someday I'll get to fix them....

Could it be the sliding cover for the sunroof?

yaaaa i have this same propblem, but mines like a random pop/crack comming from the passanger side area idk very weird

It's definately not the cover of the sunroof, i played with that.....I did some more research and it seems that there is a TSB for defective retainer clips that hold the windshield in place while the adhesive cures that maybe causing the popping sound above my head. Will see if thats the case, am about to go out and take the windshield off and look at the clips.....

wow... I have exact same problem on my 02 ES300... I thought it had something to do with warmer weather because when I bought my car back in Jan. 07 it didn't make this noise and as weather got warmer here in chicago I started hearing this popping noise. thought i was rear windshield. is yours coming from front or rear? please let me know if you find out what it is.
