Thanks angmedic91 and CorLexusES. CorLexusES, the Tanabe's and 18's still offer a very reasonable ride. It definitely isn't as cushy as stock which is mostly due to the 40 series tires, but it's still smooth and compliant even over rough roads.

^^ Dude, loving the car. Those rims suit it 100%, they add contrast to the shape of the overall car!

Good stuff!

tripleOG I have those wheels in my garage waiting to go on my car too hhahah. I guess now i can't use them since someone else already has them on. what "coil spacer" are you talking about using? i have axis groove 20x10s on now, and lowered. my car rides fine right now. I'm looking to sell my springs for cheap when i go to coilovers

05es330, If I have to describe the spacers they actually go in between the coil rings to stiffen them. They prevent the spring from compressing, therefore making the wheel a bit stiffer and preventing it from hitting the lip of the fender. It is a "mickey mouse" fix that is sold at Pep Boys. I will eventually get stiffer springs. What do you recommend?

When I had people in the back of my car and traveled on the freeway the rear fender lip hit the fender. It got to the point where it literally stripped the sidewall of my tire a bit.

How did were you able to fit your 20's without a problem?

BTW, Disregard the fact that we have the same wheels!!! Our ES's can be twins lol

ahhhh those spacers, i've heard of them before. stiffer spring? eh.....oem lexus springs are so soft that even aftermarket springs are pretty soft too. the tanabe springs i have are pretty decent, a lil bit stiffer than stock but not too stiff that it rides like ****. its a subtle drop. 1.5" front 1" rear. with the OEM 17's the rear rears pretty much sat flush. I have the eastwood fender roller kit. i rolled my rears. thats what hitted your sidewall and eating your tires. i had that happened. the other rubbing you will hear is the fender liner. i ripped mine out :-) the best thing i could of done to help clear. even with stock OE wheels it rubbed the damn thing! i'm selling my springs soon.

I wish I could buy your springs, but it also means I would have to buy smaller wheels.

Question. Did you have to use a small wheel spacer on your Axis wheels? my wheels ended up hitting the side of the shock casing.

ES's are complicated sometimes.....

yeah. small wheel spacer. i ended having to go 8mm for the 20x10 et 40. i installed extended wheel studs just in case. you should be able to get away with a 3mm spacer if its touching the strut tower. the springs should be fine with the wheels, they stiffen the ride up a little bit. im noticing more ppl on this board are getting the tanabes. i would take off that black fender lip and the fender lining on the inside. it helps out A LOT

Yeah I took out the fender liner the first day I installed the wheels, I just need my fenders rolled. I live in hollywood, CA so not many custom shops out here are willing to do it for cheap since they mostly cater to the "upscale" vehicles.

I'll look into the Tanabes. Any pix of your car? or links
