Angry Need NEW Power Window Master Switch ASAP!!

Ok my Power Window Master Switch just crapped out today.. Had to really reaf on the button to get the window up. Thank goodness LOL.. This is actually the first thing that crapped out on this car (1992 ES 300) Dealer wants $250. Checked Ebay, Rockville, and various other sites, and its kinda irritating. Ebay had nothing and the ones they did have were for the wrong year. Im certain its the switch but I just cant find one besides the dealer and 250 is a lot. A Camry one wont fit. I just need a new one now cuz I cant stand things that dont work.. Any info????

I just did a quick search and found this. Looks like you can beat that price easily if I found something with one search (assuming I found the correct part).

He needs the Master power motor, probably the one for the front driver window, your link shows the motor for the rear driver window. It is a good price though, Iv heard of people buying them for more than $250, crazy ...

Yup. Swing and a miss up there. Sorry.

I've done some more searches from work here and that is one hard to find part. There are several auction and swap-meet style sites I've found where people have listed it up there - NEEDING it. But I've yet to find it as a part you can just purchase outright outside of the dealer network.

No doubt this lack of supply with a high demand is dictating the prices offered by the dealer/parts network.

I seem to recall paying a similar price for this part approximately 2 years ago on my car. I almost barfed when my shop told me the price. Since they're independent I saved on labor, but the parts prices are still extravagant.

Looks like you may be stuck on this one.

Do you know exactly what your looking for? i'm reading from you, that your switch is broken, but others say the motor... i have both available and in working condition from a 93 donor. Hit me up with an email: ahabion@excite.com

If you mean the switch itself for the driver window, than i've had the same problem with my 92 ES since i got it. If it is the same problem, than it will go down without a problem, but when you pull it up, the window doesnt move. What you have to do is push down the back of the button while you pull it up from the front to make the connection. I replaced my switch with one from a junkyard that seemed to work fine, and then after a month it started to do the same thing. You're best bet, if this is the same problem, is to find one from a very low mileage ES, or just buy a new one if it bothers you that much since it seems to be a problem with these switches. I have just gotten used to it by now..
