Yeah, poor a little hot water over the badge, and start prying it off. The glue should melt a little.

Couldn't remove the badges to paint them..so the only way was to...
spend an hour carefully taping the badges and covering the entire back end with newspaper..

Pics..(Rear end..)

Got a close up? I like the whole black badge thing, but I still think it'd look weird with the chrome on mine...

Oh wow, it turned out very good but man you spent ALOT more time then you definetly should have!!! Get some close up's... did you get ANY on the body? If you did, no biggy, should come off fairly easily since the clear coat is protecting it from getting a good grip on the paint.. (some clay bar or buff would get it out IF you did)

Parker Gen: What do you mean it would look weird with the chrome on yours?

I know it is too late but I think the best way to get the badges off is with a hair dryer or something that blows very hot air, that would loosen the glue.

Chrome around the edging of all the windows etc. Plus the new wheels I'm getting have chrome dish.

Didn't have time to take some pics, but since i spent an hour taping everything It came off very clean.
As for the matching part...I just think it makes the rear end look less fat somehow...lol And i saw the same Gunmetal badges on the platinum edition es 300 (2001) and they look very nice on that car.

Well im glad you figured a way around the problem. The way i think is that if i have the same car as someone and theres does something (peeling the badges off without braking them) then i can do the same with my car... not that i heard this idea from someone else (claiming originality) but you get what im saying. None the less i couldnt have done it better myself

Parker Gen: i get what your saying... I guess i have a different mindset but on lighter cars i seem to like black trim and accesory type things. Something like a black car i would probally go with chrome trim around the windows and chrome lip on the wheels
