Trying to figure out bulbs for cluster, need bulb size for indicator lights (Backlighting bulbs are 24s according to Tanninauto, but after calling them they refuse to give me the number for indicator lights {O/D, ECT, etc.} weird.)

Anyone know?

24? I don't know what that is. Some bulbs are either T5 or T10, also known as 74 and 168/194. Do NOT replace the airbag light with an LED this will trip an SRS code which is hard to clear. Best thing is to pull the cluster and have a look. Again a warning do NOT turn the key to ON with the cluster disconnected same deal you'll get an SRS code.

is correct about 74 being incorrect, as I pulled the backlight bulb out and and compared with a 74, the 74 is bigger. If you say 74 will work, I guess I'll try it for the backlights, and I'll see if I can find 168/194 for the indicator lights

Edit: indicator lights are definitely not t10 or t5.. those are way too big

T5 is about half the size of a T10. You sure T5 is too big? Or are these neo wedge bulbs for example 4.2 or 4.7 if so those are "grain of wheat" bulbs. Here's the part numbers for the replaceable bulbs for what it's worth.

Why are you trying to remove them? Do they twist off?

They are a part of the trim piece that must be removed before the cluster can come out. I managed to flex the piece enough to get it to come out and just let it hang by the wires after trying to unplug it for nearly 2 hours. Not sure why mine will not unplug.

Hi and very informative. Will this procedure also work for the 93 LS400? My needles and warning lights are all working but no backlight at all.

I’m still confused on how to change out my back lights. I want it where my speedometer is all blue basically I’ve gone and changed out the bulbs I thought would do the trick but that was only the shift gear bulbs. I drive a 2000 lexus es300 someone please help.
