When at Autozone, tell them your car model, year, and you want a "sway bar bushing." It is exactly the name of the part you need. They come in pair.
When you take your old bushing out, don't put it back if it still looks good!!! When I first did it for my car. I was wonder if the problem come from that bushing since it still in good shape. Just b/c the part is so cheap, I put them in and no more noise.
Good luck.

4. # 9.5165G, Greaseable Type Bar Dia 1.25 in/31.5mm
I did a search and some said it was 16mm front, 17mm rear diameter. ??? I want to replace BOTH.
I just got a '99 ES300 with 120k and the previous owner replaced (last month) all shocks, struts and mounts but the sound it still there. The only thing left is bushing.
Daizen did not make these bushing for ES300

THanks for this thread.. I've had a thump type noise in the front drivers side. I believe its the strut so my mechanic is going to replace the strut and if its the problem than he'll charge me.. I never thought about the bushing? the car only has 86k and its a 97ES.. The noise has been there for months..
any link or part # for the sway bushings.. thanks

hi guys, this thumping coming from the front wheels also sounds like a problem i'm experiencing. With very little automotive knowledge on tap, can someone tell me what to use to replace the bushings? I'm asking because i can see a nut in that picture posted by maniax...but the part circled in red seems doesnt show how it's actually secured into the car
can you please explain a little bit more maniax? or anyone else for that matter?
thank you, much appreciated.
And also, after i remove the bushings, do i spray the joints with anything? like say....Wd-40, grease...or lock-tite??? sorry for the newb questions, hehe i'm still new to my car. THANX again!

Hi MrMatty,
Whilst I can't really help with a write up about the bushings, have a look at this reply which I wrote for another member on pretty much the same issue with the front end noise. I think this will help you. (click on the link below, My reply is about 3/4 of the way down the page)

I am having the work done soon so hopefully it will solve the problem of the noise!!

Thanx Lex Es300, i've read the post you put up on that link. It is helpful in highlighting the route to take, but i still need to know what to do with the front sway bar bushings once i take the old one out and try to put the new one in. Do i spray WD40? grease? locktite?
Anybody?
Also, i've rang the lexus dealer to quote some prices on struts/suspension related things and this is what i've gotten "Front shock absorbers are $575 each , front strut support mounts are $150 each , front strut support bearings are $75 each and rear shock absorbers are $620 each." What does everyone think of those prices? Keep in mind that they're in Australian dollars. they look so high...

Pole Position
I had my front strut mounts and struts redone, and the rear sway bar end links....and I'm getting to have a feeling of what the car may have driven like when new. INCREDIBLY quiet! The car really drives nice and the cold morning suspension knocks are no more. I love it. Had i known the cause, I would have taken care of those annoying sounds earlier. Now instead of sounding like a domestic car, she's all Lexus now.

Sorry to bring back a thread from 6 months ago but I went to look for this part online and all I can find are control arm bushings. I went to the local auto shop and they don't carry any suspension bushings for my 94.
