Default Did I overcharge my AC?

so my a/c wasn't working all the time... so I decided to recharge it ... myself ... bad idea...
First I checked it with the gauge, it was in the green, it needed filled. So I hooked up the can and pulled the trigger... the coupling from the can to the AC low port was leaking... so I stopped... put the dust cap back on... went back to walmart, got a new can and gauge setup.
Back to square one... I took the dust cap off, hooked up the gauge and it said it was overfilled????!?!!!!?! WHAT JUST HAPPENED??? lets just say it made absolutly no sense... kinda pissed me off!!! So I didn't fill it because it was in the yellow/red zone on the gauge. Then... yes there is more... FAKE SMILE!

I am driving down the road turn the AC on low and quickly hear what sounds to be a loud purging of the system in the engine compartment... quite a few times. So I pull over, open the hood and rev it up... there it goes again... sounds like a loud purging or what sounds like a lexus fart... GRRRR

WHAT IS WRONG??!?!?!?? any ideas???? I really wish I was a mechanic!

What did you recharge your system with? I'm guessing R134A is what you filled it up with...

What year is your lexus? most of the second gen ES's are filled with the R12 type of freon so unless they've had their ac system converted to R134A, then you shouldn't be filling with r134a. So you could've possibly filled it up with the wrong stuff

Why don't you bring your car to a professional auto air conditioning company, and let them diagnose your problem?

You may have over charged it,or it could have air in the system and check you condenser for any leaks,I got a brand new 07 Camry the other day with a hole on the condenser due to a rock puncture...
