Look under your driver side dash. On the top left, there's a box in the back corner. You're looking for a White/Violet wire. I'll try to post pics if I have time this weekend.

?? There should only be 1 wire with those 2 colors (white and violet). You can see if you tapped into the right one by going into the hardware settings > connection status. The speed pulse number will increase and will make faster beeping sounds as your drive.

BTW, where did you ground the D3?

there was a emthy 10mm bolt hole on the left side. I didn't use the gnd from the metra harness. I install the harness and test the radio, but I still have to wait for my installation kit coming on the 25th. the manual give me a choice of mounting the gps antenna on the rear deck or outside the car. I plan to mount mine on the dash. I have to return my reverse camera to china because it was defective. I aslo have to return one of hid bulb because that was defective too. I am trying to do some work to the car before I put it on the road. I was building a amp rack today in the trunk.

Yea that's how I grounded mine as well, but I'm still getting a slight hum/whine. Have you turned on your D3 yet? I'm trying to figure out if it's my ground or potentially something else.

I tested the radio but I didn't start the car because I had a battery charger hook up while I work. I will put back the radio and test it with the radio on. if I get the hum I will run a gnd directly from the battery to the radio to see if that work. I am using the factory amp just for testing purposes. I will use a 4ch to push the 4 door speaker and tweeter. I will add 2 more tweeter for the rear. I will also check radio shack for 4 capacitor to put on the 4 tweeter. in the future I will purchase 2 sets of component system. where did you mount your gps antenna. My car look like a mess right now. panels missing, wires all over, but the end product will worth it.

If you look inside your dash (up by the AC vents), there's a round metal cross beam that goes across. There's a magnet on the antenna, so I just stuck it right to that.

Signal strength is fine. I've never had any problems connecting to satellites.

And I doubt it being amplified. It's the magnet touching the frame or the car, not the actual GPS chip.
