power steering leak

Be sure to pay mind to the type of powersteering fluid your car uses.
The vast majority of Toyota's use Dexron III transmission fluid for powersteering fluid.
Eat the cost of the high pressure hose if that's the problem. New pumps are notorious for being installed incorrectly & leaking, while new racks are pfffft $1000 would be very, very cheap.

my 94 ES300 is has a severe P/S leak problem...
i replaced the P/S pump, the pressure hoses, even the reservoir cap with hardly any improvement... the P/S fluid still leaks...
now the local Firestone place i go to says that the sensor is bust (probably means the solenoid valve) and the rack&pinion too...
He says that its probably not worth keeping the car.. but I want to keep it... do u think I can close off the valve as suggested in this LS thread:

looking forward to your advice.

No, that would not work. The part you showed is called the air control valve. It is present on the LS engines but not on the ES engines. Its purpose is to raise the pressure in the power steering system when the engine is at idle. It is notorious for leaking. That is why the folks on the LS forum have found numerous ways to block it off.
If the solenoid in the power steering pump is the cause of your problem, you have to get it repaired or replaced. This part is critical to the proper operation of your cooling fan. If the solenoid is not working properly, your car would be very prone to overheating. I had this very problem on our 94 ES.
I think you have a problem which is beyond the expertise of the folks at Firestone. I would try to find an independent shop which specializes in Lexus and/or Toyota repairs. The ES power steering system in the early to mid- 90's models is very unusual because of its operation and control of the cooling fan.
