Default Motor Gone... 220,000 miles

with 220,000 milages on my motor it have finally gave up on me. I didn't think it would come this soon knowing that my car had knock and pings that was barely noticable. furthermore, on idel it purr like a cat... but it have reach its final days...

Saturday Afternoon, Started my car to get ready to goto eldorado park. after ideling i heard my car knocking then it went away...so I went to autozone and bought a can of those lub, knock, blue liquid can that helps the car from knocks and ping.. and it have work for almost a year now. but to only find out that it made the car worst. as i was driving going into 2nd gear at 2000 i heard my car RAWR and bang on the block ..like hundreds of screws was rambling everywhere.... there and then i knew my motor is gone... I despreatly try to make it home with all the metal rambling in the motor and finally...and luckly when i made it home the car just stalls on me...

Im thinking of just leaving it in my garage...
or does anyone know of any places that sells the 3vz-fe motor...

my dad can get a rebuilt one for 500-600? and was wondering if anyone can get it cheaper...

or else im just going to get a different car.. i spent so much on it already =\ i think its time for a change.

My car
5spd ES300... =\

Wow man that really sucks From reading your previous posts I knew you were really into your car. Even worse, like mine its a rare 5 speed so I can certainly feel for ya. 500-600 sounds about right. I would suggest a rebuilt engine instead of a used one because the 3VZ-FE is hard to find in good shape anymore, but that motor is one hell of a trooper. Youll have no prob finding a reman. If you really love this car, replace the engine; or think about parting it out.

I feel for you. I currently have a 1996 ES 300 with over 286,000 miles and I want to hit the 300,000 mile mark. She still runs great. She does burn oil but doesn't leak any oil which is a good thing. I park in a brand new garage and I don't want any oil stains on the garage floor. I bought my ES 300 brand new and I feel I got my moneys worth...

yeah.. this motor was a trooper... took me everywhere... =\. i was trying to get to 300,000 mark also... but fail... kind of make me wonder if anyone have ever hit 400k miles a 2nd gen ES300... =0.

and as for tigerjapanese... i heard of it before.. thanks for posting it up.. but i'm unsure if i should purchase from them.. i just have this fear of buying really really expensive stuff over the internet.

Go for the IS 250/350 or a used GS 430.

It's still a feat for 220k miles... I just hope my GS will stand that long or longer...
