Default Tired of the old tail lights.

So I'm too cheap to buy 2001 tail lights and I hated the amber, red and clear look of my ES's tails, so I decided to paint them.

I taped off the amber parts, scuffed them and painted them with Testor's transparent Candy Red. I then wet sanded and cleared averything to blend it all in.

What do you guys think?

Thanks, too bad the car isn't clean though. I had to bump it out to the driveway now since I picked up the RX as well.

I thought about it, but then nobody would know when my reverse lights were on. Plus it wouldn't pass a safety like that if I ever sold it.

Wow, I like that look a lot!
And since you did such a great job of it, I think we can probably forgive you for not washing her before you took the pics....but just this once!

Looks good. Has anyone ever considered tinting the middle strip? I have a black ES and was considering that, but wasn't sure how it would look w/ 2 red stripes for tail lights.

Ha, I'm kinda like you, the only difference is that I'm getting tired of my `01's....I might revert back to the originals.
The orange ones as more character IMO.

Looks good.
Actually yeah, I am thinking of tinting my rear lights black, with standard window tint.

Up to you, but I woudn't recommend it for safety reasons. Cathafer in the 2IS forum got her tails blacked out and then got rear-ended really bad last week 'cause the driver of the car behind her said he couldn't tell her brake lights were on.

That's no good. I can't see the pictures at the moment but I'll have to check it out... to see how dark they were blacked out. Sounds bad.
