Default Question. Rims.

Hi guys,

I'm planning to buy some rims for my ES300 '02. Will the rims with the specs below fit in my car?

19"x8.5 19"x9 rims (double PCD 5x112 5x114.3)
front offset: ET32 medium disk
rear offset: ET24 medium disk

Nb: It was a used on c-class, though.

Thanks.
mike.

i dont know. i mean, if your car is similar suspension wise, and inside tub wise, then it should work with some suspension tweaking. are you still on factory struts? please post your setup so that we here can further help.
because i have 19*9 +22, but it barely fits. and i mean barely. and this is dumping the car and camber adjusted. if youre not to savvy with suspension, i would take it to someone to do. because if youre still stock suspension, then your wheels are going to look mexican lowrider style.

yeah Charley, I'm still in factory struts. well, yeah, the first thing I want to do, is find the rims, then I'll find the lowering springs and the shocks, (the thread I posted the other day). Ow. mm, what do you mean by suspension tweaking, because I don't want to do too VIP kinda thing such as chamber or anything like that. anyway, thanks dude. ;9

oo anyway, Charley, do you know what is the range of spring rates for comfort or sport performance springs? the tanabe df210's spring rate is 2.8/2.7..is that the hard one or the smooth one? thx

Have fun with the 9" wide rims. I just ordered longer studs and spacers and I still may have to roll my fenders to make them fit. Let me know if you need longer studs or anything I did tons of research on it.

2.8kg/mm. i honestly dont know about our stock springs, but i would imagine all aftermarket to be at least 10% stiffer than stocks. my coilovers are 7kg/mm in the front.
by suspension tweaking all i really mean is pretty much camber not chamber.
if you dont know a whole lot about suspension and wheels, then i wouldnt try those rear offsets that you got, or the width for that matter. it is wide, and youre probably going to have a hell of a time with them. dont get me wrong, they will fit, but if you know what youre doing. and if youve thoroughly thought it out.
let us know

okay, Choas. So in order to fit the wheels on my car, I may need to do the camber (as Charley says) ?

anyway, Charley, what do you suggest me for the 19"s offset that do not require camber or suspension tweaking?

thx guys.

I hate to jump in on this agian but if you do have to do a negative camber you may rip though your tires fast. Your best bet is just get the offset perfect which many of us have failed to do.

sorry, but i dont think youre right, but wrong either. toe is what is going to kill your tires fast. camber not really, as long as your toe is dialed in at 0, you can run camber. but extreme camber will eat away at your tires regardless. which i really doubt you can achieve with our cars because of the lack of aftermarket support.

mike: ok hmmmm..... offset makes a big difference, but its also your wheel widths. if youre not sure, go with a smaller width. 19*8.5 will be much easier to fit than a 9"or 9.5".
man youre really bustin my chops man. ok, 19*9 +24 should work out. because im 19*9+22/23. ok. i had a hard time because im on coilovers. coilovers are probably close to an inch wider than struts. i was only able to use up some of my negative camber because my coilovers. but if youre struts, then you should be able to go more negative camber than what i was able to do. if i were you, just go with a smaller width wheel. much easier. its really hard to explain suspension and suspension geometry stuff.
