Default cupholders in 2001 ES

my cupholders in the 2001 ES just plain out suck... When ever i have a bottle of water or can of soda in the holder and i'm making a turn, they tip and sometimes fall off the cup holder entirely.....anyone else have the same problem??? anyone know what i could do???

I started calling them cup resters. I actually had a drink spill on a female friend of mine during a turn. How embarassing. I like my GS's cupholders much more.

Easy solution - don't drink in your car LOL, JK

yeah, the cup holders suck, I usually have to place my hand over the cup when making turns

when i have a bottle of anything i always rest it on the side between my right leg and the console.......doesnt take care of the problem with cans though.....you'd think lexus would've been smarter than that

I feel your paint and i have the same problem with my ES |(. I found a really nice cupholder that i really like but it is too expensive and I don't know how well it fits with my ES.

I really like this style. Does anyone have more info on this or another similar model that sell for a cheaper price? Thx.

Mine seem to be ok... but I guess the only time I use it is when I go through Mc Donalds drive through or something, and those cups are a little larger so they fit nicley.

Ohh stop complaining
The es300 2nd gen cupholders are INFRONT of the radio and when you put anything there, you can't change the radio/ac settings at all. And its so flimsy, it can not even hold a regular water bottle
I don't drink anything in my car though

I do hesitate to chuck drinks in-front of the sound head unit though, as you say.

The only drink that fits right is usually a medium soda from a fast food joint (which was once large but now they call that size medium for some reason ) But yeah our cup holders suck. Oh, and the rears are worse, they broke on me a while back, I think someone step on it while they were sitting in the back.
