92-93 stock ES ran 16.1 1/4 mile -- i have my original brochure. The best time ive gotten out of my 92 es when it was stock was 16.3, but i have a 5speed -- the autos launch much better.

The ES wasnt really designed to do super launches in the 5 speed version. I did get a racing clutch that made some difference, but not a huge one as far as launching goes. Also, the auto has less gears. For example, a stock supra auto will beat the stock 6 speed manual.
Really, I always thought that a stick is always faster because you can change the shift points and RPM your self. Maybe it is diffrent on our Toyota based cars
Uhh...that's not very credible info. I doubt an ES300 can even hit low 15s unless it had alot of mods. The ES300 is heavier than it's Camry counterpart. The fastest stock Camry I know of with only an intake as a mod...and a very good driver with a 99 LE 1MZ-FE V6 5spd is 14.7 in the quarter mile. 14.5 is bull**** sorry to say. Most magazines can only get the ES to do low 16s...but 14.5...maybe with NOS.
