I finally put in the blacklight leds in the cluster. Just wanted to see what they looked like. I will probably go with the blue leds. Sorry I suck at pictures.

Funny how it only strongly lights up every other digit (1, 3, 5, 7, 8 on the tach; 20,60,100,140 on the speedo).

It looks so cool I hope you can figure it out.
Maybe LEDs are just too directional to backlight gauges? Are there special wider-casting LEDs that we should be using for this application? (Yeah I'm interested in doing the same thing).

Yea i agree it looks nice. What I would do is make your own led array and do blue and white leds.

Leds are directional, so you will have spotting. I have white leds with the flat tip, which helps with that, but even though blue light disperses more than white, the dimness of the blue bulbs will make the spotting more noticeable. I would suggest using white leds..

mines shine fine... i got 3 smd for each bulb...




i put this back a year ago... still working good =) i use to have the white led but i went all out blue ... even my climate control cluster is blue =0

Chris I thought the blacklight leds would be just like a black light illuminating from my dash, I was disappointed,But the blacklight led I purchased for my dome light does.
