Default My *new* Steering wheel (Before and After Pics)

Well, I was at the local Toyota dealership yesterday and there was this guy there doing work on some of their previously owned cars. The dealership contracts him to fix up damaged upholstery, carpeting, leather, etc.
I asked him to have a look at my steering wheel, which was looking pretty worn. The leather was cracked and the dye had pretty much worn out especially around the top half of the wheel where it is gripped the most. He quoted me a price of $60 to refinish it, so I said go for it! He spent about an hour sanding it, cleaning it, filling the cracks, redying it, and then coating it. I'm extremely happy with the results! It looks just like new again!

After:

So what do you think guys?

Way to go! That's a perfect example of being at the right place at the right time! Nice job there.

wow, that is impressive. Very clean interior, black car is very attractive to dusts and pollens.

I couldn't order new Lexus floor mats for a '93 (not made anymore) so I ordered a set for a '99 ES from the dealership. They are not an exact fit (maybe half an inch wider than the original mats), but very close to perfect. New floor mats always help to freshen up the interior of a car, and I like the contrast of the white "Lexus" lettering stitched into the black mat material.

Nice steering wheel there! Looks great... but how long is it suppose to last? Looks great though! Once mine gets to the stage like yours was, I'll probably do something similar for sure.

Well judging by the way it feels, and the amount of work the guy put into it, I'd say it should last the life of the car. It's guaranteed for at least a year, but I have no worries that it will still look good much longer than that. But in another fourteen years, I might need to get it done again....

It was exactly the lettering that stole my attention

man that looks real good. I would love to switch interiors. The black interior looks so much better than the tan and brown
