Default If it were a snake

Somtimes the problem is so simple it can be overlooked over and over at least for me... Today I was starting on the timing belt again and I noticed somthing I had not seen before... First of all the car was stone cold... When I pulled the overflow hose off the water outlet I noticed a few drips kept coming out of the nipple and when I squeezed the upper hose it shot out... my first thought was to blame my new rad caps as defective... Not the case... Closer inspection revealed some minor pitting on the sealing surface where the inner cap seal mates with the aluminum... Toyota will have my new water outlet on thurs... Bad time to order parts on a holiday weekend... Oh well its not like there isn't more work to do... It's the pan gasket tomorrow and I might as well replace the thermostat housing too there is corrosion inside where the O ring seals the water pipe for the lower hose... Ps my wife hates the car
