Default Check Engine Light and Trac Off Light

I have a 2000 ES 300 and the Check Engine Light and Trac Off Light are staying on. I've had a local parts store read the codes and it is PO500 Speed Sensor. I took my car to a repair shop and had them do a diagnosis and they read the same code. They however told me that my Combination Meter was bad..... $620.86 to replace the Combination Meter.

I'm going to get a second opinion since everything I've read in the forum points to the speed sensor on top ofthe tranny or O2 sensor.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've had the exact same thing happen to me. I haven' t noticed any sluggishness in power or loss of fuel economy so I think we're in the same boat here.

It can be the combination meter, but there is also a sensor that can cause the same P0500 error that is sits on top of the tranny.

I'm thinking about replacing the sensor on top of the transmission.... it is much less expensive than the combination meter and I can install it.

I also 2001 ES 300 and the Check Engine Light and Trac Off Light are staying on. I went to AutoZone and ask them to ran a diagnostic check and had a
P1135 code. Does anyone have any idea where the A/F sensor(bank 1, sensor 1) heater locate.

Thanks
