Wierd thing happened when I replaced my spark plug wires, when I started my car there was ticking coming from my Dist. cap, it lasted for about three minutes and then it stopped, I have new spark plug wires, dist cap and rotor, my cars idle is very rough... I already cleaned the AIC, runs fine when on the road, just has rough idle. Any ideas?

I will definately check to make sure the wires are on all the way, the car does run, so I think the firing order is correct, it just runs kind of rough, it is wierd because it does not tick anymore... but I do have a rough idle.

I figured out what the ticking was and why my car was running like crap. I had bought a new distributor cap and rotor. On the cap where the screws go thru the holes there is a small metal sleeve that is inside the hole the screw goes in to. This sleeve was sticking out partially on the opposite side of the hole , which caused the cap not to be seated flush all the way around on the distributor, so the cap was slanted on the distributor and caused the rotor to hit one of the electrical leads inside the cap, it also caused the middle terminal on the cap to break off and burn up. Once I replaced the cap, ensuring it was flush all around on the ditributor it worked fine. My car runs smoothly again.
