OT, but I thought the rear tails of the ES350 were hideous when the car first came out. Now, when I'm on the highway, I actually think it looks quite good. ES330, despite looking almost exactly the same, somehow manages to look slightly outdated already. I think it's the curviness of the tails.

Wow, I like these type of conversations... where was this in the first place???
Anyway, let me just say, that the leather in the ES300 previous generation is a little better than the leather in the IS series (200-300). It's way more plush and soft, while the ones in the IS seem to be a lot thinner and harder. But I will say that the leather sports seats in the IS are mad!

Such problems make the controvery over which has the better leather or more wood trim seem kind of insignificant.
I think I'll take a pass on the ES350 and keep my older but reliable (and still beautiful!) ES300, thanks.

That's right, but one of the unfortunate reasons some people are trading their new ES in (after just a few months of ownership) for a different Lexus model is because of the problems with the ES350. Tranny flare, diesal engine sounds when cold, wind noise, irritating creaks, squeaks and rattles, and the latest I've read about is really pretty scary - uncontrolled acceleration. Seems the cruise control system on some of these cars goes haywire and comes on when it's not supposed to and then the car starts speeding up uncontrollably for no reason.
