Just purchased a 97 ES 300. I'm no mechanical expert, but did a very good look at the car before buying, and it was just in phenomonal shape inside and out. Everything appears to be good, but I'm off work right now waiting to start a new job in 2 weeks and wanted to take the time to make sure my car is totally up to speed.
If you had just purchased this car, what would you do to it as far as basic maintenance if you already knew the oil and oil filter, air filters were good, and the radiator had just been flushed. What else should I check/replace to get the vehicle on track so I can pick up the maintenance schedule properly?

when i first bought mine, "second owner" i took it to a lexus dealership, had the vin ran and got all the records for it.
its free
then based on that i did the service
i purchased my 98 at 89K miles. I did the 90K tune up including the TB.
I am tuning 110K in about 2 months and will do that service at the dealership since i work so much my play time is limited to family.
my first service was about 700 and the 110K service with plugs wire, tranny flush and pan clean, new valve cover gaskets, flush fill raditor, tire rotation and balance, i was qouted 1000..
my brakes and rotors were done by previous owner with reciepts at 80K with new tires.
when they go i plance on going with vented/slot/drilled bremco's
besides that this generation runs good
definately do the seafoam treatment, and then get a oil change to 10w30 Mobile 1 synthetic, with toyota filter or KN
anything else you ask, i learned quick around here is to use the advanced search it saves alot of trouble and headache. I usually do mine with morning coffee.
