Default ES300 takeoff Video

http://youtube.com/watch?v=aT7eI_01PgU

My car taking off at ~3000rpm......i shifted at about 4-5000rpm into second. Pretty slow but if you turn up the speakers you can hear the sound of the CAI.....doesn't sound bad at all!

Cool

He has a manual...
For you, powerbraking will give 2400rpm +/- 150rpm on the stock torque converter.

LoL! Come on man my 4 speed civic with 65bhp takes off that fast. Get it to 4200-4300rpm, pre-load the drivetrain & then let the clutch out.

Here's an old old old video of Sean's M/T.

If you'll take a look in this thread starting with post #22, Pheonix and TruPlaya26 go 'round and 'round discussing the optimal shift points. One of Pheonix's first posts around 23-24 with a graph shows you about all you need to know. There's some good stuff in there, since you're about where TruPlaya26 was at the time.

Nowadays TP26 knows the ES is not really what you want to be racing around in anyway. He'll kick back and cruise in his ES and save the track days for his upcoming IS. (Smarter to keep it on the track anyway)

No. The fastest way is putting it in drive, powerbraking...

AFA shifting points. On a 4 speed 3vz-fe they calculate to 60xxrpm in 1-2, 2-3, and 59xxrpm 3-4 on a completely stock engine.
The v6's will rev out to near 7000 but they are much slower letting them rev. The torque dropoff is gigantic by 6000rpm.

Haha so tru, yea after seeing how much i could possibly spend to make my ES haul a$$ I realized it would be cheaper to just buy a brand new car, and what better car than the sexiest Lexus ever (IS350 or IS-F). I test drove one (IS350) about a month back and man they are quick, I can't wait till i get it . But yea for the time being Iv jus been cruisin' and enjoying my slow little car, I still race every once in a while tho but i really gotta pick my races cuz theres only a handful of cars out there we could really smoke. Instead of all the performance mods, look at my sig to see what i did instead which is IMO more enjoyable on this car.

I know this is an old thread but I figured I would hijack it and put up a video of my 93 ES 5spd that my brother took. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIw6EqF20BQ
