I'll give the bottom line first, than the story.
I'm locked out of a 1997 ES300, I need to get in ASAP, and the key does not fit in the lock. Its a stupid question, but does the tennis ball trick work? Is there a way I can get in? I don't know where the transponder is...
The Story
Well, the ES300 is my dad's car, but my brother's been driving it for a couple years. The locks stopped opening from the outside... I don't know how long ago. My brother took our truck so he could work on some of the rental properties we have, and we used the lexus. In since I'm 16, and have my permit, I'm driving. I was at one of our places with my mom, and I locked the car from the inside. I forgot that it doesn't open from the outside. we went and finished the errand we were running and when we got back, couldn't open it.
The interesting thing, is that the key would go halfway in all the locks (driver, passenger, and trunk). Also, it felt like it was stuck in them the same way, so I'm thinking it maybe the key (I just emailed my bro to check) if it is, I can order a few masters off the VIN. If not... well I need to get in.
One more thing, can locksmiths pick lexus' locks?

The tennis ball trick... http://www.metacafe.com/watch/410981...e_unlocks_car/
Well, I just ordered a new master key from lexus parts (my mom is reluctant to call a locksmith). I hope the key works...

What the hell !!!
I have to try that next time someone at work locks themselves out.
I think carrying a spare key in the purse or having one wired under the car would be easier than carrying a tennis ball around.

The guy that made that video must own stock in tennis ***** or somthing cuz he's sitting back laughing his a off at his dumb blond video that has gone viral... Simple mechanics of a lock cylinder is this; The key aligns the pins or tumblers then you have to "turn" the key to unlock the mechanism that is conected to the lock cylinder via a connecting rod... Don't believe everything you see on video
