Odometer is broken
Hi. I have a 93 es300 with 115000 miles. the odometer broke on me. One of my friend suggest i need a new tach. I really don't know much about cars. If you could help me out it will be great. Thanks.

speed odometer?
if so, do you see your speed while driving?... if not then its your speed sensor... also is there any check engine light?

It's "speedometer". Odometer is reffering to mileage.

Leave it broken, much easier to sell then cuz technically you didnt "mess" with it to show lower miles

The dealership paper from the owner said they try to change a fuse and there was a pop. The mileage doesn't come on.

Also does anybody know what a "tach" is or where i could purchase one?

A "tach" or tachometer is your RPM gauge. Ebay, local auto parts store, etc. have many to choose from, you don't need another one, and if your's is broken then i'd say get new gauges then. Then you have a good reason instead of just one or the other(odometer) broken.

Also, try changing the fuse. It's in the fuse panel under your dash. Not sure which one, I will check later for you.

there was a pop when u changed the fuse and the fuse died out again
?
theres a short somewhere.

Where do you think the short is? Do you think its gonna be difficult trying to locate it?
