Default 92 Es300 Engine and Transmission removal.. Top or bottom removal?

Hey folks
I am replacing My engine and transmission with a JDM engine and tranny.. Does it get removed out of the top or bottom? I am not going to be doing the swap as my back just couldnt take it anymore.. I am having a friend do it but he wont do it if it has to come out the bottom.. He does'nt have a lift.. Also what will needed to be swaped over.. I have read about the oil pan.. but what else will needed to be switched over... LMK
thanks
jimmy

Cool

The top if you're replacing both, or don't have a lift.
The transmission itself can drop out the bottom with a lift. Otherwise you disconnect everything & just pluck them out the top.

ummm... have fun taking it out towards the bottom... i'm pretty sure your giong to have to take out the crossmember...

when i took off my tranny... i didnt' have to take off my crossmember... i just use every tight room as much as possible and just slide right down.. after twisting and turning...

and the hard part is... getting the tranny back up there... and i did it all by myself.

...
and as for the motor... i purchase one from tigerjapanese that phoenix told me about. got what i paid for... just that the wire harness was crap! =/

crazy thing was...when i swap my tranny... 2 months later my motor blew lol...
so i say its a good idea to get a cherry picker... make the job alot more easier =)

things that needs to be swap over...

JDM does not have EGR - ( japan does not have strick laws on emissions)

so JDM does not have
EGR valve
EGR Gas temp
EGR Intake manifold
EGR Rear exhuast manifold

simple thing to do is to swap your old intake manifold and exhuast manifold to your new motor.

also the JDm does not have a fuel pipe line thats goes to the cold start injector thats connect towards left side of the intake manifold. so swap that.

and it does not have TVV for the EGR. ( heater lines ) the top one.

Swap Oil Pan... from what i hear and from my experiece...JDm does not have Oil Sensor on there pans. i suggest using a gasket rather then silcone. when swaping over...

also, your old wire harness....

so in conclusion
things need to be swapped

intake manifold.
fuel pipe line that goes to your cold start injector.
Rear exhuast manifold along with the egr pipe.
top heater assembly hose. top portion with the tvv sensor.
USDM engine wire harness.
Oil Pan.

Things need to be changed.
Timing belt - OEM Is the way to go! cant stress that enough
Water pump -
tension bearing -
All belts -
Thermostat - suggest getting low temp.. OEM opens at 82*F and i think TRD or some other aftermarket make one that opens at 72*F
(optional for cooling )

thats all i could think of right now...

GOOD LUCK!
