Default new owner - 2005 es - couple of quick questions

Hello,

Currently own a 2006 Evolution 9, but I picked up a crystal white es330 for the other half yesterday after she fell in love with it. But I had a couple of quick questions that I couldn't find via searching.

The original sticker isn't with the car and I don't feel like calling Lexus right this second.

1. The dealer printout stated it has traction control - could traction control and vsc be had as sperate options? Is there any light on the dash on startup?

2. Any way to tell if it has adaptive suspension short of a VIN check?

Thanks

VSC and traction control are the same thing. Only time you see the VSC light is when its disabled. Its triangular with a (!) and VSC on it.

You should have a switch next to your right hand where the gear box is if you have adaptive suspension.

Actually, VSC detects wheel side-slip in turns, and initiates recovery actions.

TRAC detects wheel spin and attempts to secure better traction.

So - I did some more research and finally have my hands on the car. TRAC and VSC cannot be had seperately. However, as was mentioned, TRAC and VSC are NOT the same thing. As the name states, VSC helps maintain stability and direction of the car while traction control helps the car manage wheel spin... in the least technical of terms.

I do not appear to have adaptive suspension because I have no button!
