Whats up all.
I am thinking about purchasing a 1992 ES300 that has 230K miles on it since I have heard that lexus engines are pretty reliable, but I wanted to hear from those that actually drive them. Basically I just want to know what mileage everyone's '92 ES300 has. Also let me know what are some of the common problems that afflict these cars so that I can make sure to look deeper into those aspects. Any input is highly appreciated.

Wow lot of 92s lately.![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Some of the guys here are over 200K and some dont have a lot of miles. My 92 has 105K and some change. Check the maintenance history of the car.
Common problems, lets see...........![Uhh...](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/1387914497.gif)
Valve covers
O2 sensors
CV joints
Sway bar end links/bushings/leaking struts/strut tops
Maintenace items that should be done or need to be done
Timing belt/water pump (180K)
Change all your fluids if that hasent been done yet including Tranny fluid
Clean the IAC, EGR, and the t-body. (That probably hasnt been done yet)
Change your plugs since youve got the plenum off anyway. (Denso or NGK plz)
Replace both rad caps
Do a compression test on the engine so you know if youre head gaskets and valvetrain are happy. And find out if it ever overheated. Dont let it run hot.![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Hopefully im not missing anything...
Enjoy your car if you get it.
