Default i need help from whoever has aftermarket rims

ok, i ordered 18" by 7.5" helo tease rims and i got them on friday. they sent me 18 by 8.5" by mistake. the rim wont work on my car cause it crushes up againt the susension. the 8.5 is too wide. is the 7.5 going to work fine?? also the factory lug nuts are huge and wont fit into the rim. do i need aftermarket lug nuts also??
any help would be greatly appreaciated.

i have a 98 black and grey lexus. the rim i ordered are all chrome. how would black rims look? how about black and crome lip or does solid crome do this car very well?? if u guys have pics too that be nice

I really cant comment on the width's for your ES since I am not familiar. I doknow that with any aftermarket wheel, you do need to get new lugnuts as well. What offsets are you running on your rims?? This will have a good deal to do with fitment issues. Am pretty sure that an 18x8.5 should fit fine. Another member here, Smitty0881, is running 19x8.5 and his rims look hot.

What part of PA are you from?? You should come over to the Neloc forum and meet some of the members there as well since most of us are situated in MD,Pa, NJ, and NY. Being that you are somewhat local, I would suggest hitting up Smitty0881 as he is currently running 19's on his 2K ES. Remember to drop in and check out the Neloc forum here on CL as well.

Hello Brian. The offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. This is very important cuz it one of the key things to having a wheel fit on your car. A general description on offsets can be found here:
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/...jsp?techid=101

Now when you say the rim is hitting the suspension are you meaing the rim is rubbing on the fender or is it actually hitting the strut? If you could find out the exact offset they sent you. 8.5 will work but you would definitely need the right offset. You should have no problems with 18x7.5. I was running those before I switched to 19s. I hope it helps some and if you have any other questions let me know.

You could always put in longer studs and spacers worked great for me and I'm running 18*9.5. It also gives the car a wider look and I think it handles better too.

Lexus lugs will fit with Lexus wheels but not some aftermarket wheels. So YES you will need aftermarket lug nuts.

I was looking at buying those exact rims for my ride. For what it is worth, I did try some GS 17x8's on my car and they did not fit. The offset is 50 and they rubbed up against my struts on the rears. The fronts were fine. Anyways, I ended up selling them to a family member.

a majority of almost all aftermarket wheels now have tapered(conestyle) lugnut seats because all manufacturers use different types of hub bores, meaning that most aftermarket manufacturers will produce the larget hubbore so that it can fit a wide variety of vehicles. and when you use tapered style lugnuts, each lugnut becomes lugcentric, so you USUALLY dont have to have it hubcentric. factory lexus wheels and lugnuts are not these types. so just go on down to any checker/autozone/kragen they should have gorilla style tapered lugnuts. i believe you need 1.5 pitch lugnuts.
