'99 ES300 122K.
I stopped by the gas station for a fill-up. As I leave, started the engine, and then it would just slowly come down to shut off. Started it again, and it would just do the same. Freaked out, I started again, but before it could come down to zero, I rev it up couple times and was able to get home safely.
After I got home, I plugged in the code scanner, no code returned.
What was wrong? What could be done to prevent something like this happen in the future?
Thanks in advance.

Im gonna say you have a dirty IACV(idle air control valve). You can clean it with throttle body cleaner, try doing a search on it.
If your engine is overheating, your es will shut itself off purposely, idk if thats the case but it could be.

I am having the same problem now.
It's definitely the IACV.
Clean it several times as it may or may not work.
You may have to open it up and do a complete cleaning as it looks like I will have to do.
Good luck and post your results.

it could be bad fuel. my friends camry used to do that after he mistakenly filled up when a gas tanker was pumping gas into the station's tanks, get some of that STP fuel injector cleaner and try and see if you can change the filter asap.

It was definitely not a fuel problem. The pump was broken, or they might have ran out of fuel at the station. That's the reason why I started my car to move to another station. I use Lucas every time I filled up, and run a bottle of Techron once in a while.
I'll definitely looking into the IACV issue. Thanks everyone.

EXACT same problem. It's not bad gas, I know that for sure. Anything else it could be besides the valve?
01 ES300 with 113K. My car rolls forward a great deal when first starting. It's almost like its a manual, you have to time pressing the gas pedal so it doesnt roll forward after shifting in reverse. Start the car, shift into reverse, then take the foot off the brake, and then rolling time. What could that be? I jsut bought the car 2 weeks ago and it seems to be doing this more consistently now.

Ok.... new issue. Go to start the car this morning and it won't start at all. Won't turn over at all. The dealer took the car back and said he cleaned the fuel injectors. After getting it back the car idled as smooth as heck, but then today, about a week later, this happened. (also, this past weekend it actually did the shut off right after starting thing)
Ideas? What do you think.

You may have 2 issues.
1. If your engine did not turn over, then it may be a bad battery connection or a bad battery. Possibly the starter.
2. Did you clean the IACV?
If not, try this link and do it.
