i know the sub is fried cuz i smell the voice coil lol and the two fuses on the amp went and i hooked the sub up to a concetion i have in my room and it poped the contact on and off... which means there r contetions touching=fried v.c.
btw the gain is set to 1/4 of the way up and the sub still distorts?! im kinda mad that i cant see the full potetiol of my amp....

I run 600 rms to my Type R and it's in no danger of blowing. The Type R's are known to be able to handle a lot of power so it's prob something else that caused the sub to blow.

are you sure the gain was only at 1/4 when it blew? the only thing i can think of that would cause the amp fuses to go and the sub would be you cranked it to high for too long. that amp puts out 1800 max depends on how you have it wired tho. the R's are rated at 1500 max but could take more but if pushed too hard too long would blow. whats the voltage on your hu's preouts?

Your subs blew because you were sending it a bad signal. MTX amps are pretty generous on their RMS ratings. You probably weren't satisfied with the bass and turned the gain up a bit, not knowing that you were sending a bad, clipped, signal. On the next set-up get a Digital Multi Meter and set your gains correctly. Absolutely no problems should arise with only 600 RMS to a Type R, unless the above is correct.
