How to replace alternator? 2nd gen ES300
Sup guys, im running a TC sounds 3hp (tc-3000) with a JBL 1200.1. The stock alt cant keep up and I can only play full tilt for about 30 seconds before the 100 amp fuse opens. Plus im deciding on giving that sub close to 2000 watts RMS so im gonna need the current.
Ive decided to buy a remanufactured 160 amp alt, from this guy on ebay with plenty of feedback on the lexus side of alts.
So yeah I have no clue how to replace it. Can somebody do a step by step tutorial? maybe with pics? Thanks!

Who did you get the alternator from? I'm in the market for one as well. I have a tc sounds 2000 that'll get 1200 watts rms, and 2 sets of elemental designs 6500 components that get 300 watts a set...

i had a JBL1200.1 back in the day. very very under-rated amp.
you're popping 100amp fuses left and right because you NEED to fuse it for 125amps. it's probably drawing 115-117 amps 20 seconds into the music starting. just trust me lol. 125 amp fuse... 120 would be perfect, but you can actually buy 125amp fuses without looking. so use 125. if it grounds out you'll still pop the fuse. if it overheats itll drop power then turn off. if it over currents the back 120amps worth of fuses will pop, but not before about 130amps+. so the main 125amp fuse will still go first.
its popping from being way under fused. not under powered hehehe. and yes doing the big3 wire upgrade, a 130+amp alt swap all help light dimming, but not your fuse problem.
koook check the manual. but it's crazy easy like most alts. take off the electrical connectors. loosen the hold bolt, and the tension bolt. the alt swings down. remove the belt. now finish removing the alt bolts & take the alt off. installation is the inverse of removal.

Hey thanks man,
I did the big 3 a while (I think I posted it on here too).
As for the fuse, I know that its not enough (the amp has a max current draw around 115 amps) But even if I had a bigger fuse id still get the major dimming and the inability to bump for extended periods. Plus im thinking about finding another 1200.1 so I can power both coils separately.
