isntalling the sub and amp is easy but installing the cd unit itself is hard

when you install the cd unit, tell them to run the rca wire and the power wire (small remote wire) to the back of the cd player for you and then I can show you how to set up the amp and the sub themselves

You don't "have" to change your headunit, no. The stock one can stay, if you want it to, with sufficiant power to run subs etc.

the stock one can stay but he has to find someway to hook up the rca, or do what i used to do and split connections from the rear speaker wires to an rca adapter, not recommended

You use 2 amplifiers... the stock one stays, you create RCA outs and RCA ins, on the stock amplifier. After that you connect the after market amplifier from the boot to the standard amplifer.. the rear 2 speakers are running from the aftermarket amplifier in the boot, and the rest of the speaker run with the stock amplifier under the seat. The subs run off your aftermarket amplifier in the boot as well, so the aftermarket amplifier will be holding the rear 2 speakers, and the subs. The connection between both amplifiers works perfectly fine, if that's what you want to do, in order to keep your original headunit.
That's a general overview of how it can be done.

So easy, all I did was buy a Line Output Converter and tapped into the 6x9, as for the remote wire I used the power antenna.
