after my first day with the car all i have to say is that was one of the funnest days of my life. I'm pumped to have the car i always wanted at 18. Lucky to have found one with low miles too!

Congrats on your new ride. It looks like it's in good shape.

But in response to a couple of "nice upgrade" comments in this thread -

UPGRADE??

Since when is going from one of the world's most well built and reliable cars to one of the world's most quirky and unreliable cars considered an upgrade? Just seems to me like an odd comment to make, especially on a Lexus owners site.

I'm not suggesting there isn't any finer car than the Lexus, but a second hand C-Class? hmmmm....

I guess if all one is interested in is the tarnished prestige of driving a car with a three-pointed star, then fair enough.
...just my $0.02 worth.

You can't go wrong with anything AMG. Even though MB isn't quite the most reliable cars, I think you'll have plenty of fun in that C36 AMG.

Congrats on the ride.

Be prepared to pay for maintenance.
It costs me about $2000 per year to maintain my MB out of warranty.
Is it worth it? I use to think so, I am starting to rethink my decision these days as my AC went out and its gonna cost me $2,000 to get it fixed.

dont worry bout te repairs, just enjoy the car, and not all german cars are unreliable, weve had our mb for 16 years and havent had one problem, but its only gone through 15,000 miles lol. have fun with the c36, thats one hell of an upgrade, is that an s class i see next to ur es in the picture at the top?

MSRP, Place of origin, and time taken to build and go through 2 factories to come out an AMG totally says its an upgrade... Now reliability is another thing, hands down Lex is the way to go. I've been through a 1995 S320, 2002 S500, E36 BMW, VW's, Porsche 928S, and i have either been lucky with every single of of my German cars (which would not be likely) or i take good care of my cars (which would be a lie) but it just depends on how well you maintain them, how you treat them, and how previous owners took care of them (mostly!)...

I consider an upgrade to mean going from a nice yet slow 1994 lexus that happen to have some problems(rusty parts!) to a fast rear wheel drive c36 AMG that is more mint than my lex, better looking, better handling, better everything pretty much, and crazy fun to drive. plus i figured if I might become a benz tech i mine as well get a benz and start learning now.

oh yeah i almost forgot the golf cart!
