Default few pics of our ES250

just a few shots. haven't gotten around to washing it yet and granted, the cloudy day and the parking lot at home isn't the most fantastic background... but we're just proud of the car.

Cool

You're killing me. It's just in such good shape and well-cared for. Nice project car you've worked on there.

I love to see cars I'm fond of in good homes!

actually i posted the whole reason-we-have-a-lexus story with pics here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...8&postcount=34
you can scroll to the bottom for the story on this car.

Very nice looking ES 250 you got there. When I first wanted to buy a Lexus I was contemplating if I should get the ES 250 or the ES 300. I went with the ES 300 and I still have her today. She has over 300,000 miles on her. They are just great cars. Happy driving...

bringing it back to life was well worth it in a bunch of ways. hubs is gonna try to keep this one running forever. he's downright crazy about it.

washed it down today, finally, and we were both very pleasantly surprised with how much better it looks.

(DH is not used to having cars worth looking at... and he thanked me for washing it/making him let me wash it )

started the claybar process... omfg that's gonna take a LOOOOOTTTTT of work. i got the left side front fender and 2/3 of the hood and it took me a couple hours. and i still didn't get *all* the small rusted embedded metal chunks out of the hood. but it looks like a much creamier white, no more brownish tinge to it. it'll look fantastic when i'm through.

i don't think i'm gonna break out the zaino on it, unless i'm feeling unrealistically ambitious. this car will have 150 hours of time stuck into it by the time we're done with it...

Please post pictures of your ES 250 once you completed the claybar process. I would love to see more of her. Today I went to a pick-a-part place because I need a cup holder and the temperature and time display for a 1996 ES 300 but I wasn't successfull. I didn't see one ES 300 but I did see three ES 250's. They definitely are classics...

oh it'll be a while, i'll warn ya. 17 years worth of road crap, perfectionist detailer, time constraints, and weather constraints will add up the time to completion. it's out on a quick road trip to help load up his toolbox from storage, plus it's a good opportunity to check mpg with the new suspension in... otherwise i bet i could have it done by the end of tomorrow before i have to go back to work.

i can't believe you saw 3 es250s and not a single es300... seems almost backward. good luck finding those parts!

Wow, way to bring back the old classic. Show these noobs just what kicked off the Lexus brand here in America. This car and of course the first gen LS400 are what started it all. Nice and post pics when you finish the clay bar process and get her all shined up.

well, the vertical panels were far easier than the horizontals... i managed to rock through the roof, C pillars, trunk lid, rear bumper, rear quarter panels, doors, and A pillars today.

i didn't do the gold-tone panels on the doors... not worth it, plus there's a bunch of black crud that the clay doesn't remove without an insane amount of work. i'm going to go over that maybe tomorrow, maybe next weekend.

RH fender and the rest of the hood are up tomorrow.

i can't tell you how much better the car is looking... it's truly amazing. truly. i can't wait to finish up and share pics with you guys
