Default Another radio harness ????

i just purchased an eclipse 5510 head unit and i've been doing a lot of research on wiring harness kits and how to go about the install in my 94 es. this is the first time that i have installed a system using the factory amp. otherwise, i wouldn't be a little confused. the only thing i know so far is that i have to pick up this kind of wiring harness kit.......

do i connect the pre-outs from my new head unit to the rca's coming from the factory amp? or do i connect the wiring harness rca's to the factory amp? that's where i'm getting kinda thrown off...... would both options work?

i've also read in another thread that the factory radio only has 1 pair of rca's while the pre-outs/wiring harness have 2 pairs. can anyone confirm this? or are there two factory sets of rca's? i suppose i could splice them and that wouldn't be hard at all.

fyi - i did read the write up which contained the wiring diagram if i choose not to use the factory amp. however, does anyone have an opinion on whether the factory amp is better than running the internal amp off the head unit? or vice versa? cutting and splicing doesn't really appealing to me at this moment!

any pictures, tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

ok, well that plug that you just showed, the white part harness connects to the factory wiring harness. the wires parts connects to another harness that the aftermarket headunit(HU) comes with. it should all be fairly plug and play. unless you want to get complicated and bypass the factory amp.
but, im no stereo expert, just helping out with what ive learned from the past and experiences.

thanks for your reply charley. i'm hoping it's pretty straightforward/plug in play. i don't want to bypass the factory amp which is why i was curious about where those rca's from the harness in the picture above connect to?

it probably just goes to aftermarket headnuit plugs. unless what youre showing us is the aftermarket headunit harness.
but yeah, just remember when installing, when ready to turn on, dont put everything back together, just plug in and see, because if something is screwed up, then youll have to tear it all down again. its a pain in the ****.

Now heres what im wondering if it would be possible to use that harness to make a aux in for a stock setup. I mean it has two rca plugs that would plug into an audio out on the deck so why not a mp3 player?
