Default Mint '04 ES 330 - what's it worth?

An old friend passed away two weeks ago and her son-in-law is detailing out her car for sale. I helped the lady pick out the car and make the deal on it in August of '04, and it is a beauty. White with the taupe interior, premium package, and 15K miles. The car was never driven on the highway or freeways, but only on surface streets, primarily in her neighborhood. It was religiously maintained by the dealer, never parked outdoors, always garaged, and still looks and smells "new". She was a meticulous housekeeper (her garage looks better than my living room) and her ES is showroom new in all respects.

Now, before her family gets ripped off by some dealer wanting to pick up this gem and re-sell it as "new", what is it REALLY worth? KBB calls it at $24K, and that seems reasonable. Is this too much to ask for an ES 330 that is just over three years old? Would it be better to sell it privately? Her daughter and family have four cars, and one more is the last thing they need.

And no, I'm not selling the car, nor am I even getting involved in it.

eh, I would say in the low 20's I'd say...low miles so perhaps more...check the local listings on autotrader or ebay to get an idea

Sounds about right, although it will take some time to find the right buyer. Not everyone is willing to pay that much. Most will want to barter a lower price. So if there is no rush, it shouldn't be an issue.

I've found ConsumerGuideAuto's price tables to be an excellent reference.
Here's one for that model of ES.
No matter how "mint" I wouldn't expect anything above the listed range.

but i believe that selling privately, you have to go lower price than dealers.
