98 Lexus... What size speakers do we have?
Hey guys, just curious, what size speakers do we have?
Tweeters - ?
Door Speakers - ?
Rear Shelf Speaker - ?
Do any of you guys know the size, and if there are any easy drop in replacements that'll improve the sound quality? I feel the stock sound system is kind of weak...

tweeters: 2 inches
door speakers: 5 1/4 inches
Rear subwoofer: 8 inches
I am looking to do the same as you are and have herd that we could fit 6 1/2 inch speakers in the doors but you would need to make some sort of speaker mount using MDF wood so that you have space to roll the window all the way down (if you don't the window will hit the magnet of the speaker).
As for the subwoofer if you plan on replacing it you would need to get a free air sub or else it will sound like crap. I did not do this and the sound quality in the driver and passenger seats sound good, but if your sitting in the back seat it sounds terrible.

^ thanks for the info
I really want to keep everything factory looking, and hopefully keep the stock HU if possible.
I just feel the system needs a bit more "punch" because my biggest complaint is that our rear deck speaker (subwoofer) is lacking in punch. So really, I just want to find a drop in solution.

1. Get a new Deck
It'll be tough to find a good replacement for the factory sub and still use the factory amp. You'll probably need to go with a aftermarket amp because the stock amp will probably be be underpowered.
I tried to go the same route your looking to take, and most people end up not using the factory amp.
