Angry Help - Won't start due to Ignition Kill (?)

I have a 97 ES300 that has apparently tripped the kill switch somehow and I cannot get my car to start. My key fob power for the remote lock/inlock has been going down and died this week. I'm wondering if something in the remote generated enough power to trip the kill, like a last gasp.

I drove it this morning, and all was fine. Went back to the house for a few minutes and was ready to leave for the day and... nothing. Typical kill situation where there's intermittent power to the accessories but no power to the starter. I figured this was a situation that required the use of the remote fob to reset the alarm, so I loaded a new battery to the remote. I locked and unlocked the car a few times, but it's still dead. It's not the car's battery. That battery is less than 1 year old and has plenty of power.

I can now lock and unlock the car, but the kill has not been reset, so the car won't start. Instead of the typical BEEP or BEEP BEEP, I'm getting a very weak half-beep and the alarm won't set (at least I don't see the status light on when I lock it). I can set the alarm manually by locking the door with the key, but it's not resetting the kill switch.

Any ideas? I'm dead in the water until I figure this out.

Thanks,
Rob

may need to unplug the battery for a few minutes and let the comp reset itself. My LS 400 did this to me but it was a result of the sensor in the door working intermittently. Sometimes when I unlock the door, the alarm goes off and the key will not disarm it. Have to go to the passenger side of the car to shut it off. I think if you unhook the battery and then rehook it,, all should be good with your situation; especially since you say that all batteries are relatively fresh.
