Default How much different?

Hey guys i'm new to this site and was wondering about something that has always been a question in my mind: how different is the ES300 (1997-2001) different from a Gen 4 Toyota Camry? I have been in the market for a newer car and my Camry is essentially a baby ES300. It even has the same paint scheme! My car has only 60k, but would it be worth it to get a ES300 with say 80K? I mean I love Toyota's and Lexus' but can't afford a newer ES or a older GS. What do you guys think? Oh yeah, here is a pic of my Cam:

^First off welcome to CL and thanks for the pics your camry is very nice. Now how much did you find an es with 80k on it. Oh and the difference now this is depending on year are:HIDS,better sound system, most of the time leather, better body lines, more commonly found features i.e. moonroof, adjustable suspension, traction control, the nice sexy Lexus logo and brand recognition, and other stuff i'm forgetting that someone else will chime in on.

Standard V6
Standard 4 wheel disc brakes w/ abs
Better gauges and better than XLE Camry trim
Never seen an ES 300 without a CD changer and the stock Pioneer system is better sounding than a Camrys
Frameless windows (very sexy)
Oh yeah the most important part: MADE IN JAPAN.

Nice lookin Camry tho

The ES300 i found with 80k miles was gonna cost around $11k and it was Black Onyx/Grey. Looked very nice and was surprised to find one priced that low. My Camry is a very good car and has everything short of ABS. I was planning to get some woodgrain to spice up my interior. But thanks for the reply!

Yeah my Camry is only an LE 4-cylinder! Custom ordered in 2000 by my grandmother for 22k (sticker was 25K) and when she passed away was purchased for me by my parents. My car has a decent stereo (for base stock system). My car was built in Kentucky, which was surprising since it has leather seats and the two tone paint which I would have thought to be built in Japan.

It's a 2000 ES. Same year as my car; Here is the link to it. I love everything about the car. The rims and the color.... damn it's beautiful. A complete league above my Camry. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...g=1&cardist=98

11K for that ES is a little bit too much... have him get it down to 8500... i mean if i can find myself a 2000 Audi A6 2.7 T fully loaded(with dark red leather, and factory HID) with 88K for 9000bucks,, you can surely get that car for less than 11K..

so if you dont have a cd changer whats in place of it in the glove compartment? can you please snap a pic of your glove compartment open and you could always get one off of ebay for dirt cheap and put it in most of them look like they come with the whole housing and all

There is just nothing there its just a glove compartment.Wouldn't it be just sitting in the glove compartment not up behind it. I've seen them on ebay but I haven't bothered getting one yet. Show me where yours is maybe i'm not looking in the right spot.

Yeah i wouldn't pay that especially since the mileage is a little higher than I really want. I do like the car alot though. I'm hoping sometime next year I can find a ES; but i would really love to find a GS300. But it's so hard to find one for a good price with low mileage. Reguardless, I love the ES and GS cars. But I do love my Camry. It's been a damn good car.

Don't get a gs300 it has the same gas mileage as a gs400 with less power.
