Default very noobish question

i have my stock tires on my car in preparation for winter coming up. i was wondering is that even really necessary? could i just leave my 18 inch alloy wheels on all year and not change and thing. my car is not dropped yet, does this affect it.

just wondering

The tires on your 18's are too thin and hard. Not good for snow or ice. Slip city. Keep your stocks on for winter. Plus less wear and tear on your summer set.

I have 18's and will be switching to my winter set come November.

Yeah and its also good to put on your winter set so when the good ol' snow comes and the ice hits the road it won't mess up your rims.

Yup I kept my stockies with the winter rims on it so I could have just swapped the whole thing in the winter.
